2025 One Act Play Division II Championship

KERRVILLE, Texas — Veritas Academy triumphed in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) Division II One Act Play Championship, clinching first place in the contest held on November 8, 2025, at Cailloux Theater in Kerrville, Texas.

The competition showcased excellent performances from eight schools including Veritas Academy, The Covenant School of Dallas, Live Oak Classical School, Prince of Peace Christian School, Vanguard College Preparatory. Lutheran High School of San Antonio, Hill Country Christian School of Austin, and Rosehill Christian School. However, it was Veritas Academy that emerged victorious, resonating excellence and execution in their performances..

The championship also highlighted individual standout performances. Sawyer Marrs of Veritas Academy was named Best Actor, underscoring the school’s presence in this year’s event. Additionally, Madeline Gilmer from The Covenant School of Dallas took home the Best Actress award, showcasing the depth of talent among the participating schools.

Rhonda Smith, TAPPS Director of Fine Arts, commended the participants: “This year’s competition continued the opportunity for the young men and women of TAPPS to express their acting gifts. The performance demonstrated their commitment to their acting craft and showcased the leadership of each director. The spotlight shined brightly on all who stepped on the stage and the cast behind the scenes.”

With their remarkable victory, Veritas Academy has set a high standard for the next competitive cheer event scheduled for November 10, 2026.
