Athletic Directors and Football Coaches:
The TAPPS Executive Board has reviewed the use of wearable technology in football over the past two years. Beginning with the upcoming 2026 football season TAPPS will allow teams the opportunity to use wearable technology throughout the regular and post seasons. Audible coach-to-player technology will not be allowed at any time. In keeping with the current technology rules, coaches input shall be allowed on the sideline and not restricted to the press box during contests.
In conjunction with this rule change, TAPPS proudly announces a three year partnership with GoRout as the official football technology partner for wearable technologies. Additional information on the Go Rout technology is linked below.
